Ruukin Tupa is a versatile service centre in the village of Jyrkä in Sonkajärvi. At its heart is a summer café, restaurant and unique terrace right next to the rapids of Jyrkänkoski. We offer fresh doughnuts and coffees, food, refreshments to go, fishing permits and of course fishing rods and flies. The terrace is a great place to enjoy a summer's day and watch from a deserted spot as fishermen try to catch trout in the Jyrkänkoski. In the museum you can learn about Ruukki's history and see an art exhibition that changes every summer. The Ruuki House and its surroundings are perfect for parties. The café and pub with its services are open during the summer (1.5-30.9).
We also offer professional catering services and wilderness and nature tourism services. Jyrkänkoski is the start of the Nurmijoki river route, which is an excellent fishing area. The nearby Volokinpolku hiking trail invites you to go hiking. For Tyky-days we organise e.g. team races. And of course, in the summer, our customers are delighted by the Ruukin Tupa Theatre.
Ruukin Tupa also has several facilities for organising meetings, if you get bored of traditional meeting rooms. Fibre-optic access is also available in many venues, making it worry-free to join in remotely. We are a full-service meeting venue!
